PFM crown

The PFM crown owes its success to the fact that it fulfills all the requirements for a successful restorative dentistry, it is used on the anterior and posterior teeth. The ring is formed of a metal frame and a layer of ceramic burned above. The binding is due to the appearance of oxides on the surface of the metal, which bind chemically to the ceramic.

The advantage of ceramic porcelain coverage is the strong chemical bond between the ceramic and metal. The ceramic is resistant to abrasions. For people allergic to base metals, gold alloys exist. The metal-ceramic crowns are strong, stable and provide a good aesthetic result.
